The 10 Biggest Earthquakes in History |
(ENGLISH)
Japan's magnitude 9.0 earthquake was Japan's largest quake, but, it's not the world's biggest recorded quake. Dating back to 1900, four other earthquakes of magnitude 9.0 or greater have ruptured across the globe, according to data from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Here is the top 10 biggest recorded earthquakes in the world. I truly hope such disasters would not happen anymore in anywhere, but even if it happens, I want to see it as an event of my own country.
The 10 Biggest Earthquakes
1. Chile, 1960 - M9.5 Approximately 1,655 people were killed
2. Prince William Sound, Alaska, 1964 - M9.2 128 people were killed

10. Assam-Tibet, 1950 - M8.6 At least 1,500 people were killed
