NYC MTA strips cheeky ads |
(ENGLISH)
According to am New York August 23, via
Newsdays, the MTA decided to remove
controversial transit ads from city buses
because it is too risque for the eyes of
New Yorkers. The ads for Georgi Vodka is
showing a young woman's bikini bottom that reveals the buttocks. A MTA spokesman
said about the ads "We are sensitive to the feelings of the community. "A spokeswoman of CBS Outdoor, which handles bus transit ads for the MTA also said "We
are very aware that bus ads are intrusive. Buses go through residential areas, by schools and playgrounds, " while Mr. Silver, the owner of Georgi
Vodka who decried the removal of the ads said "What's wrong with a girl
in bikini? I can tell you there were men and women on a city beach
wearing a lot more revealing outfits than this one." and he is now
considering a lawsuit against the MTA for violating the First Amendment
and freedom of speech.
Well, it might be nothing to you, Mr. Silver, but at least, to many women
including me and mums, it is NOT nothing、I think. You know..?

8月23日のニューズデイズ経由のam New York(NYのフリーペーパー)
